A longer prep route in Barnes
St Paul’s Prep, previously St Paul’s Juniors, covers ages seven to thirteen. It therefore includes primary-age education but does not end at the usual state-primary transfer age of eleven. That longer route is its practical distinction for families comparing Barnes with the Dulwich and Wimbledon options.

Check the precise seven-plus, eight-plus or later-entry arrangements for your cohort. Ask about senior progression and remember that Barnes sits south of the river in this regional guide.

Alleyn’s Junior provides a co-educational option from Reception through eleven in Dulwich. What the fees and entry process should tell you
Request the fee schedule for the intended year, including any VAT, meals, trips, transport and compulsory extras.
A scholarship is not the same as a means-tested bursary. Ask which assessment or interview is required and how the school supports pupils joining from a different educational background.
Prep and junior schools do not all cover the same ages: some start at seven, while others extend to thirteen. Confirm the onward-school route.

Ask who notices when a child is struggling, how additional learning needs are supported and what a normal week looks like.
