A faith-school secondary option
Twyford’s October 2023 inspection awarded Outstanding overall and in the reported areas. It gives west London families a co-educational Church of England comparison with an on-site sixth form. Its faith character and admissions routes should be considered alongside the inspection evidence.

Read the current admissions criteria and supplementary forms, including any specialist routes. Ask which requirements apply to your family and how sixth-form entry differs from Year 7.
Drayton Manor received Outstanding overall in November 2023, while personal development was assessed as Good. That detailed distinction makes the inspection more useful than a single headline. It is a relevant co-educational secondary option for families whose day-to-day life is centred on Hanwell and Ealing.

Read the Catholic admissions rules and any supplementary assessment arrangements. Confirm the mixed sixth-form route separately and ask how the school is acting on the teaching recommendations.

The London Oratory offers boys’ education with a co-educational sixth form. Its September 2022 report awarded Outstanding in all assessed areas. Although the institution includes a junior-house age range, this guide concerns the secondary choice; the different entry routes should not be collapsed into one.

Check Catholic admission priorities, supplementary forms and the entry point you need. Ask about the Fulham campus and the requirements for joining the sixth form.
Queens Park Community School provides a comprehensive option in Brent. Its January 2025 report records Good in all key judgements, with no overall effectiveness grade under the framework then in use. It offers a different admissions and school-environment comparison from the faith schools elsewhere on this shortlist.

Read the determined policy for the intended entry year and recent allocation information.
A nursery place, an address nearby or a high entrance-test score does not necessarily guarantee admission. Grammar tests, faith criteria, partial selection and sixth-form requirements are separate routes.
Completing a school assessment does not replace the home-council application.

Use the visit to test the fit
Ask who notices when a child is struggling, how additional learning needs are supported and what a normal week looks like.
Look at work, talk about homework and find out which clubs pupils can actually attend. Repeat the journey at school-run time.
Keep several realistic choices rather than treating any Top 5 as an offer list.
