Get Tech Certified runs through December for eligible public servants

The 2026 programme offers digital learning and certification opportunities to eligible public-sector staff. It is not a free-course offer for everyone: contractors are excluded.

Who the announcement is for

The Government Digital Service launched this year’s campaign on 1 October.

It brings learning from participating technology providers together for eligible UK public-sector staff. Read the eligibility wording before planning around a free course or certification.

The useful question is what you will do differently

Start with a problem in the working week: understanding a cloud bill, checking a data workflow or asking better questions about an AI system.

Then compare the pathway’s level, study time and assessment. A recognisable provider and a free badge are not, on their own, a learning plan.

Check voucher dates separately

The announcement says any free certification vouchers offered through the campaign must be claimed by 31 December.

Redemption periods vary by provider and may extend beyond that date. Do not assume all learning, exams and voucher deadlines are identical.

A course is not a job guarantee

Use the official hub linked from the announcement for the current offer and provider terms.
