Choose by film, not just the screen
The current programme lists T. Rex 3D (PG), Under the Sea 3D (U), Arctic: Our Frozen Planet 3D (U), Wild Asia: Life at Extremes 3D (U), A Beautiful Planet 3D (U) and Antarctica 3D (U). These are programme listings, not a promise that each runs on every day.
This week: verify the exact screening
For 4–10 September 2026, open the official booking calendar and select a film and date together. Some public listings say times vary or remain to be announced. LONNOW therefore does not assign an unverified showtime to a film. The museum also lists The Odyssey (15); this is not an option for younger children.
Turn the screening into a workable day
Make the film your fixed appointment and keep nearby museum time flexible. Allow a toilet stop and enough time to find the auditorium before the screening. A familiar snack or a quiet break beforehand may help a child settle without needing to squeeze another activity into the same morning.
Check the experience, not only the rating
A U certificate does not tell you whether a child enjoys a large screen, loud sound or 3D glasses. Read the current access information and ask about seating needs before paying. Science Museum IMAX in South Kensington and BFI IMAX at Waterloo are different cinemas: confirm the address on your ticket.
