Christmas at Kew 2026: dates, gates and timed-entry planning

Kew confirms selected dates from 13 November to 3 January, with the trail open 16:20–22:00 and an earlier 21:00 close on Christmas Eve.

It is a separate ticketed event from ordinary garden admission. Adult-only evenings are listed for 3 and 9 December.

The official page lists Victoria, Elizabeth and Brentford gates, with different last-entry times.

Choose the gate in your booking and save it with the ticket; do not simply route everyone to “Kew Gardens”. If members of the group arrive separately, agree a meeting location compatible with the gate each ticket permits.

Allow time for the journey, locating the entrance and any queue.

Keep food plans flexible around the entry slot rather than squeezing in an ambitious meal beforehand. Dress for an outdoor evening and check the organiser’s access information before booking if surfaces, walking distance or sensory conditions affect the visit.
