LONDON GUIDE
Buckingham Palace: Plan Your Visit
Choose the inside experience before arranging the day. Exterior viewing, a guard ceremony and a State Rooms ticket are three different plans.

Make the visit fit your day
Choose the inside experience before arranging the day.
Exterior viewing, a guard ceremony and a State Rooms ticket are three different plans. Start with the part you most want to experience, then leave room for arrival checks, a meal and the journey home.
A ticketed landmark and a free collection are different decisions: choose the actual visit rather than counting buildings on a map.

The practical details
- Official opening information
- From October to May, selected guided-tour dates only; starts are selected between 10:00 and 15:30. Summer 2027 dates are due to be announced in November, not confirmed here.
- Free or paid
- The current East Wing Exclusive Guided Tour advertises £100 per person. This is not the standard summer State Rooms ticket price.
- How to book
- Choose the named tour and actual date. The current East Wing programme runs on selected dates 6 November–31 January; it is not daily palace entry.
- Station and journey
- Choose the walking approach via Victoria, Green Park or St James’s Park, then check the route required by your ticket.
- Accessibility
- The normal admission route is not step-free. Step-free access must be arranged with Specialist Sales; accessible parking is subject to availability and requires at least three full working days’ notice.
- When to visit
- Choose the inside experience before arranging the day. Exterior viewing, a guard ceremony and a State Rooms ticket are three different plans.
- Food nearby or on site
- Plan a meal in Westminster separately; a palace tour does not establish access to a café outside that tour’s arrangements.
- Nearby free ideas
- St James’s Park is an outside option. National Gallery collection entry is free, on a separate part of the Westminster day.

Keep the next stop flexible
St James’s Park is an outside option.
National Gallery collection entry is free, on a separate part of the Westminster day. If your group still has energy, use the area guide to decide what comes next.
If not, a good meal and an uncomplicated journey home are enough. An editorial suggestion is not a crowd forecast or a guarantee that a particular route, room or business is open.
