Secondary applications: finish before the 31 October deadline

Families applying for September 2027 entry should finish their home-borough application before the end of 31 October. Check supporting forms separately rather than assuming one submission covers everything.

Finish before the last evening

Southwark’s timetable specifies 31 October at 23:59 for the online application and additional supporting information.

Lambeth also identifies 31 October as the on-time deadline for September 2027 entry. Your own borough is the authority for your application.

A saved draft is not the finish line

The final pass should be practical, not another round of school rankings: confirm the child and address details, check the preference order, attach the requested evidence and keep the submission confirmation.

Make sure the account shows a submitted application, rather than only a saved draft.

Read each school’s instructions

Check whether a preferred school has a separate supplementary form or assessment requirement.

Do not infer that a place is likely from distance alone or from appearing in a shortlist. This checklist does not assess a child or predict an admissions decision.

If something is unresolved

Contact the home-borough admissions team rather than waiting for a perfect answer from an unofficial guide.

Ask how to submit the application correctly and what to do about the specific missing information. Keep the reply with your records.
