How it works
Footsteps trigger rising and falling arpeggios, while coloured islands add music and instruments. It is an artwork to activate rather than a scheduled performance.
Best time to try it
A quieter weekday period may leave more room to understand the interaction. At busy times, share the work and avoid blocking the walkway for a long recording.
Build the route
Combine Stepping Out with Royal Festival Hall’s free installations and the riverside walk. Keep one indoor stop available because the terrace is exposed to changing weather.
Access check
The installation is on Riverside Terrace, Level 2. Check the venue’s live step-free route and lift status when these determine whether the visit works.
