Lord Mayor’s Show: the City procession starts at 11am on 14 November

The Lord Mayor’s Show sets off from Mansion House at 11am on Saturday 14 November. For visitors, choosing an outward or return-leg viewing point matters just as much as the headline start time—and driving into the City is not the plan.

Choose which part to watch

The outward route runs from Mansion House towards the Royal Courts via St Paul’s, Cheapside and Fleet Street.

The organiser’s timetable also describes a return via the Embankment and Queen Victoria Street, beginning from Temple Place at about 1.10pm. A later viewing point is a different plan from arriving at Bank for the 11am departure.

Do not treat 11am as every location’s start

A moving procession reaches different streets at different times.

Pick your viewing point first and read the organiser’s map and timetable for that stretch. For a group, agree a meeting point outside the busiest section and share it before travelling.

Do not rely on finding each other by walking through a crowd at the last minute.

Keep the car out of the plan

The organiser warns of extensive City road closures, bus diversions and parking suspensions, with many parking restrictions beginning on Friday afternoon.

It recommends rail, Tube and walking approaches. Final route-by-route bus information should be checked nearer the date; this article does not promise a particular bus or lift will be running.

Free viewing still needs practical planning

There is no public-viewing admission charge, but that does not reserve a spot, remove crowding or pay for transport and refreshments.

If someone in your group needs a particular viewing arrangement, read the organiser’s access advice and ask about that requirement before the day. A general accessibility description is not a guarantee for an individual journey.

Leave the second half of the day flexible

A meal or indoor stop nearby can work better than a tight onward booking on the other side of London.

Use the official notices again before leaving home, especially if you are meeting someone within the closed area. This is a source-checked preview, not a report from the procession or a live traffic bulletin.
