The fastest way to choose

Pick the anchor first: sport at Greenwich Peninsula, classical music on the South Bank, or a free participatory event. Then add only nearby flexible stops. The venues are not interchangeable: a same-day transfer between The O2 and Southbank needs real buffer time.

02

Best free plan

Creative Encounters on Wednesday is the clearest free timed choice: 18:00, approximately two and a half hours, age 16+, materials supplied, relaxed format and BSL interpretation. Arrive early because the organiser describes limited capacity and one-in-one-out entry when full.

03

Best major-event plan

Laver Cup Practice Day is Thursday 24 September with 11:00 doors. Tournament sessions then run Friday to Sunday. The official venue lists two door times on Friday and Saturday and one on Sunday; match schedules can evolve, so use the selected ticket session rather than a generic weekend time.

04

Best culture plan

Southbank Centre’s classical opening runs Tuesday through Sunday. The programme moves from large choral works and orchestral repertoire to piano, minimalist music and a late-night club format. Use the dedicated guide to compare sound, venue and finish-risk before booking.

05

Transport logic

North Greenwich is the primary Tube station for The O2; Waterloo and Embankment are the practical rail and Tube anchors for Southbank Centre. City Hall is in Royal Docks, not central City Hall’s former riverside location. Always rerun the exact journey in TfL on the day.

Freshness promise
