Date, start and route
The organiser confirms Saturday 12 September 2026, with the first boats crossing the Millwall start at 12:45 BST. The 21.6-mile course heads west to Ham, and staggered handicaps mean the fleet remains spread out rather than passing as one compact group.
The central viewing sequence
Official observation estimates place Tower Bridge about 30 minutes after the start, London Bridge 35, Southwark Bridge 40, Millennium Bridge 50, Blackfriars 55 and Waterloo 60. These are planning estimates; arrive early and expect movement in the operating timetable.
Do not chase the race
Choose one bridge or riverside section and remain nearby. Following crews by public transport is likely to replace the spectacle with station changes. A fixed viewpoint plus a same-bank walk is calmer, cheaper and more reliable.
Start and finish logistics
The official locations page identifies Millwall Slipway as the start and publishes separate information for Ham. Save the exact location, walking approach and return route before leaving; river events can change pier and vessel operations.
