VISAS & IMMIGRATION
Travelling this autumn? Check the passport linked to your eVisa
Before leaving London, check access to your UKVI account and the travel document linked to it. A digital immigration record, a share code and a passport have different jobs.

Check the record before departure
GOV.UK describes an eVisa as the digital record of immigration status and its conditions.
The official guide says travel document details must be added before travelling with an eVisa. Read the travel section for the documents relevant to your own status.

A new passport is the obvious moment to check
A passport renewal can leave an old document sitting in an otherwise familiar account.
Compare the passport you intend to carry with the UKVI record while you still have time to resolve a mismatch. The airport departure lounge is a poor place to discover that account recovery is needed.
Keep the different tasks separate
The government service can also provide a share code for proving status, for example to an employer or landlord.
That does not make a share code a substitute for a passport or establish that a particular airline has completed its checks.
Use the official support route
If details are wrong or access fails, follow GOV.UK’s update or error-reporting route.
We cannot verify an individual record, decide eligibility or guarantee boarding. Do not send passport scans, passwords or account codes to an unofficial listing or comment form.
